Are you interested in teaching phonics to your  children? If so, a super resource is “alphablocks”. Lots of fun , games and stories based in the so called Alphablocks from the famous BBC.

alphablocksThere is a problem:  if you are not living in U.K  you won’t have acccess to the page.

  As it is shown  in the first picture of  there are 5 sizes buttons with  different colours : red, orange, yellow and green. Each colour has different stories and videos  that correspond the different levels. :

alphablock red buttonRed= (16 video/stories/games) It is the firs stage of phonics. It helps you support your children to master the letters and their correct sounds.

alphablock orange buttonOrange=(10 video/stories/games) As soon as your child knows some letter sounds well, they’re ready to move on to this next stage  that explains the key skills of sounding out and blending to read words.

alphablock yellow buttonYellow= (16 videos/stories/games) about letter teams: letters that join up to make new sounds (SH, OO, AR).

alphablock green buttonGreen= (10 videos/stories/games) letter blends.It explains blends, also known as consonant clusters  (they  blend their sounds together at the start( ST-, BL) and end (ND, -LK) of words.
